The Solo
Awards.
A celebration for the most risk-taking and least supported people in entrepreneurship.
An award ceremony for Norway's solopreneurs. Honestly, it's mostly a party.
No VC. No cofounder. No HR department. Just you, an org number, and a lot of nerve.
Anyone who works
for themselves.
If your business fits in one person, you're in. Whether you're training a model or training a client, the paperwork is the same and the safety net is identical: there isn't one.
Open to anyone running an ENK or a solo-AS in Norway. Tech-savvy or tech-allergic.
Awards nobody else
would think to give.
Every award is voted on by the people in the room. Categories may shift as nominations come in, so if someone deserves one that isn't here yet, nominate them anyway.
The Comeback
Survived a rough patch, a lost key client, a bad season, a crisis year, and is still standing.
Late Bloomer
Started the business after 40 and is running it today.
One of Us, One of Us
Left a corporate career, title and pension plan to go solo.
First Year
Made it through year one, first tax return included.
The Local Pillar
The one-person business a neighbourhood quietly depends on. Nominated by customers.
The Sage
Always there for solopreneurs with time, advice or connections, whether or not they are one themselves.
Too Humble
Excellent work for years, never talks about it, would never nominate themselves. So you have to.
Who Knew This Was a Job
A one-person business so specific nobody knew it existed until now.
The Tradition Keeper
Keeps a craft alive that would otherwise be disappearing.
Furthest Reach
Serves customers the furthest from their kitchen table.
The Best Ability is Availability
The trainer, physio, therapist or coach whose clients have stayed for years. Nominated by customers.
The Open Book
Has been open about burnout, anxiety or the loneliness of working alone, and changed how they work or helped others do the same.
Plus one closing honour: The People's Champ. Nobody nominates for it and nobody votes. It goes to whoever was nominated by the most different people, for anything.
Three steps.
Zero committees.
This is a NoContext™ initiative, run by a solopreneur for solopreneurs.
Nominate
Someone you admire, or yourself. Self-nomination is encouraged. Nobody else is going to do it for you, which is kind of the theme.
We meet
Nominees and other solopreneurs get invited to the ceremony in Oslo, Norway. The tentative date is the day after the annual tax reporting deadline in 2027.
We celebrate
Arrive, vote for the award winners (only attendees will have the final say), great conversations, better music, and excellent beverages.
Nominate a solopreneur.
Takes two minutes. We'll be in touch with the nominee about the ceremony. No spam, no newsletter you didn't ask for.
- Any solopreneur based in Norway (ENK or solo-AS).
- Self-nominations welcome and encouraged.
- All fields marked optional really are optional.
Nominated.
Thank you. That's one more solopreneur who's going to get a very confusing and very nice email.
Friends of the solo.
The Solo Awards is an independent initiative. It's made possible by people and companies that genuinely care about those who work for themselves.
